Video: ISWAP Claims Responsibility For Kuje Prison Attack

The attack on the Kuje Correctional Center in Abuja on Tuesday was claimed by the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP).

On Tuesday night, terrorists raided the prison and freed more than 600 detainees.

Security personnel had managed to recover some of the prisoners, but more than 400 others, including 64 Boko Haram militants, are still at large.

The incident resulted in the deaths of four people, one of whom was a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

In a 38 seconds footage captioned: “Fighters of Islamic State attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners,” released on Wednesday night, the terror group showed some of its fighters shooting their way into the correctional centre.

The attackers arrived at the complex in groups and set fire to the nearby vehicles and structures.
