UK MET Office Warns Of Extremely High Temperatures

The nation’s primary weather office, the United Kingdom’s Met Office (UK), on Friday, issued a red warning for extremely high temperatures, the strongest degree of notice.

The alert, which was released for the first time, replaces the amber warning that is in effect until the end of Tuesday.

On Monday and Tuesday, “exceptional, possibly record-breaking,” temperatures were predicted.

At Cambridge Botanic Garden in July 2019, 38.7 degrees Celsius was the highest temperature ever recorded in the UK.

According to the Met Office, “population-wide adverse health impacts, not confined to those most sensitive to excessive heat, resulting to serious sickness or threat to life” are anticipated.
