School bus policies have been devised and disseminated to children and their families by the UAE Public school administrations. There will be a one-minute wait for the bus driver in front of a student’s home starting in the upcoming academic year (2022-2023).
The memo further advised parents to leave school bags in front of the house to let the driver and the supervisor know if the child would be attending class.
Parents have been urged by institutions to work with the administration and the bus company to make sure that children abide by the regulations pertaining to bus security and safety. Children should never stand up or walk while the bus is moving; they should also always wear seatbelts. The bus driver should be respected, and students should keep the bus and its furnishings clean, abstain from tampering with its contents, and refrain from shouting and creating loud noises.
The bus rules forbid students from speaking to the driver and forbid them from sticking their hands or heads out the windows. The bus may not be used for one to three days if a student damages it or vandalizes it, and the guardian may be held liable for the costs of repair.
Parents must make arrangements for someone to pick up their children, especially those in cycle 1, when the bus brings them home after school hours, according to school administration. The bus driver or supervisor must be notified if a parent picks up the child from school.
Additionally, according to the guidelines, the guardian is not permitted to board the school bus for any reason, and if they wish to protest about the driver or supervisor, they must do it through the school administration.
The circular made it clear that, in the event that the regulations were broken, the administration and the transportation company would take the appropriate legal action in accordance with the code of conduct.
The administrations of the schools reported that they were following the directives issued by the Emirates Schools Establishment to school bus companies and their employees for the safe return of students for physical education for the upcoming academic year. Coordinating with service providers and adhering to the absorptive capacity approved by the authorities in charge of school transportation are a couple of them. Another is stressing the significance of creating and registering lists of students’ names and contact information for each bus or trip.
The instruction manual emphasized the significance of children sticking to the system, sitting in their designated seats, keeping physical distance, and engaging in appropriate behavior on school buses.
The Emirates Schools Establishment required the student leaders in charge of each bus or the school bus supervisors to record the names of those who were tardy or unable to board owing to a high body temperature and to make sure that the school administration and those students’ parents were informed. They must also report system violations, noncompliance, and positive behaviors to the school administration.
