Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Jung Sang-hwa of South Korea will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to meet with top defense officials there to discuss cooperation in the arms sector and other matters, his office announced on Friday.
According to the armed service, Jung will visit Al Ain and Al Dhafra air bases during his stay in the UAE from Saturday through Tuesday and will meet with Ibrahim Naser Mohammed Al Alawi and Butti Ali Saif Al Neyadi, the leaders of the nation’s Air Force and Air Force academy.
Jung also intends to visit and support the members of the Akh unit, a South Korean military unit assigned with a number of tasks, including educating UAE military personnel and defending Korean citizens in the area in case of emergencies. In Arabic, akh signifies brother.
