The national airline of Saudi Arabia, Saudia, has announced that reservations are now open for round trips on the Match Day Shuttle from Saudi Arabia to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Saudia said on its website that soccer fans in the Kingdom can now book round journeys to Doha through the international airports in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam beginning November 20.
On Wednesday, the airline posted the announcement to its Twitter page and urged Saudi football fans to visit Doha to cheer on the Green Falcons.
“If you have purchased your FIFA World Cup match tickets, you can now travel easily to the stadiums on a same-day shuttle service… the Match Day Shuttle will allow you to fly to watch your favorite team compete in the world’s biggest football show,” Saudia said in its announcement.
Travelers should make sure they apply for the Hayya fan card in addition to possessing a World Cup ticket before making reservations on the airline’s website.
Football fans can enter Qatar using the Hayya card, and it also grants free entrance to the stadium and public transportation.
Travelers should be informed that reservations are only accepted for round trips, and carry-on luggage are the only bags permitted.
“Checked baggage is not permitted for Match Day Shuttle flights bookings,” the airline noted.
The World Cup is the most eagerly awaited occasion that unites soccer supporters from all around the world.
More than 2 million tickets have already been sold for this year’s event.
The opening match of the greatest football event, between Qatar and Ecuador, takes place at Doha’s al-Bayt Arena on November 20.
