Police and protesters have engaged in violent battles in the Chadian capital, N’Djamena.

Protesters are urging a restoration to civilian rule and are protesting against the transitional military government in Chad.
The protesters were dispersed by police using gunshot and tear gas, and several areas of the city have been blocked off.
According to government-supporting news outlet Alwihda, irate protestors attacked Saleh Kebzabo’s party headquarters in the capital.
It said that the demonstrators destroyed the building’s main entrance with fire.
