The Bayelsa State Police Command have confirmed the recovery of the late officers’ bodies involved in the unfortunate boat mishap at Oporoma on Friday.
A dive team from the Marine Department under the Bayelsa State Police Command were said to have teamed up with local divers to search for the six bodies of the missing policemen.
The bodies which were recovered have been transferred to the mortuary for deposition.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Asinim Butswat also confirmed that investigations are being carried out to determine the cause of the accident whilst commiserating with the families of the deceased.
The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri also extended his condolences to Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu and the entire Police Force for the loss of its personnels. He also extended a note of condolence to the families of the deceased through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Daniel Alabrah.
