According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Nol card that is used to pay for rides on Dubai’s buses, trams, and metro will now also operate on the Palm Monorail.
Property developer Nakheel is the owner of the monorail, which formerly needed a separate ticket to ride.
Now, passengers can pay for their trips using the smartcard for Dubai’s public transportation system.
Beginning at the Gateway station and continuing to the Golden Mile Galleria, Al Ittihad Park, Nakheel Mall, and Atlantis Aquaventure station as the final stop, the Palm Monorail connects the many sites on The Palm Jumeirah.
“This initiative supports the efforts to integrate the public transport networks and offer seamless mobility journeys for riders all over Dubai,” said the RTA’s Mohammed Yousef Al Mudharreb.
The Etihad Museum and public parks run by the Dubai Municipality both accept the Nol card as payment.
The brand-new Pointe station debuted last week in time for a significant music festival where the Lebanese dance group Mayyas performed.
