Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has made public his desire to repay the faith shown in him by Napoli’s coach, Gattuso.
The striker who has established himself in Gattuso’s starting XI since his move from Lille has had a seemingly quiet start to life at Napoli. He has managed to score two goals for the Italian outfit this season including a match winner against Bologna just before the international break.
He explained his desire to repay Gattuso, who was instrumental in his move to Napoli.
Osimhen said “Sometimes we watch people on TV and quickly judge them, I think for me he is a great man and he is becoming a great coach also,” Osimhen told Brila FM.
The Nigerian striker also spoke about how Gattuso helped him in settling down at Naples when he first arrived in the summer. As well, he spoke about his admiration for the former Italian midfielder.
“When I first went to Napoli, I went to his home and I know the way he spoke to me and how he really wants me and this is the most important thing, a man I watched on TV and really admire a lot”
The Nigerian striker said he is ready to repay the faith and believe bestowed upon him by his coach.
“For him supporting me and pushing me to the hardest, trying to bring the best out of me I want to repay him for the believe he has had in me which is the most important thing”
However, Victor Osimhen is a doubt for Napoli’s match against AC Milan this weekend as he is still recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained while on international duties.
