Obinna Ogba, the senator representing Ebonyi Central Zone, was declared the Peoples Democratic Partyโs candidate for governor of the state in 2023 by the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Tuesday.
This was confirmed by reliable party sources to our correspondent over the phone on Tuesday.
Under the condition of anonymity, a prominent party official told our correspondent, โThe Court of Appeal Abuja has today (Tuesday) decided in favor of Senator Obinna Ogba.
โDonโt quote me because we are still at the Court premises. But you can make your inquiries and find out yourself. This is good news for us, and it further goes to say that the Court still remains the last hope of the common man.โ

Elder Fredย Udeogu, a further PDP chieftain, confirmed the situation to The PUNCH and added that the current course of events will ease the tension now โwitnessedโ within the party.
Udeoguย said, โYes, the Appeal has ruled in favour of Senator Obinna Ogba.
โWe thank God for this development, which shows there is still hope for us in this country, with the judiciary. Itโs a well-deserved judgement and we give God the Glory.
Chiefย Ifeanyiย Odii won the partyโs nomination for governor at a canceled primary that was scheduled to take place in the state on May 28 and 29, 2022.
Senator Ogba won the rescheduled primaries, which took place on June 4 and 5, 2022. However, Odii had gone before the Federal High Court in Abakaliki and overturned Ogbaโs โcandidature,โ which forced Ogba to go before the Court of Appeal.
