Hamisu Bala, popularly known as Wadume, was on Monday sentenced to seven years in prison without the option of a fine by Justice Binta Nyako.
Wadume was convicted on counts two and ten of the thirteen counts brought against him and six others by the Attorney General of the Federation during the three-year trial.
The presiding judge issued the decision on July 22, but it was only obtained by news outlets on Sunday.
Wadume was convicted on counts two and ten, which dealt with evading lawful custody and illegally dealing in prohibited firearms.
Aliyu Dadje (a police inspector), Auwalu Bala (aka omo razor), Uba Bala (aka Uba Delu), Bashir Wazlri (aka baba runs), Zubairu Abdullahi (aka Basho), and Rayyanu Abdul are also defendants in the FHC/ABJ/CR/30/2020 charge.
