Popular interactive show ‘Saturday Night Live’, has yet again selected an iconic figure to grace their stage on Saturday.
The evergreen show, which will be hosted by Elon Musk, has been on for decades, posing an eye-catchy list of hosts in the past – with names like Ralph Nader, Steve Forbes, Rudy Giuliani, George Steinbrenner and Donald Trump featuring at some point.
Musk however, will share the NBC’s Studio 8H with Miley Cyrus as musical guest.
The media outfit’s decision to pick the world’s wealthiest man has divided opinions by followers of the programme. This is because SNL has been noted for choosing celebrities more often than not for its hosting role.
James Andrew Miller, author of “Live From New York, the Complete, Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live,” recently opined that Musk wouldn’t be a bad choice after all.
“‘SNL has had a tradition of going outside of movie openings and television events and other predictable hosting invitations.
“It’s picked hosts from all walks of life and different people from all parts of the culture.
Miller added that it’s one reason the show has stayed relevant through the years.
“It gives an opportunity for people to see somebody who is very much in the public eye, and very much a big blip on the cultural, financial and technological radars, and see them in a different way,” Miller stated.
