MI Abaga Announces New Album, Changes Stage Name

Nigerian hip-hop artist Jude Abaga, also known as MI, has announced plans to retire his present stage name as he is ready to release a new album.

This was announced by the rapper on Thursday via a post on his Instagram account.

The future record deserves to be published under a new identity, therefore he plans to give up his 15-year-old stage name, albeit he did not specify the new moniker.

He further disclosed that on July 10 would be his final performance as MI Abaga.

“After over 15 years as Mister Incredible, I will be retiring the name ‘MI Abaga’ and taking on a new name for a new project because my new project is hard AF and deserves a new name,” he wrote.

“My final act as MI will be a performance at The Vibe on the 10th of July, where I will celebrate my legacy as Africa’s Greatest Rapper. See you all on stage.”

Titled, The Guy, the said album is slated for release in August.

The announcement follows the recent release of The Lamb is Back, a collaboration record project between Blaqbones and A-Q.
