Loris Karius has signed for Union Berlin on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool.
The goalkeeper joined Besiktas on a two-year loan in August 2018 but terminated his contract with the Turkish club in May due to a disagreement over the payment of his wages. He made 67 appearances in all competition for Besiktas.
The 27-year-old on Monday returned to his homeland after completing a loan move to German club Union Berlin.
Karius signed for Liverpool from Mainz 05 in 2016 and featured 49 times for the Premier League title holders. The German was however dropped after making series of costly mistakes, with the 2018 Champions League final being the zenith of it all.
Karius’ contract with Liverpool will expire June 2021.
