Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reportedly gone into self-isolation after one his close aides tested positive for COVID-19
While speaking on Friday, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi had confirmed the news and stated that other members of the Governor’s team will be tested for COVID-19 and will remain in self-isolation till the results are released.

“They will be tested by the Lagos State biobank today but will remain in isolation until the results of the tests are available,” he said.
The Commissioner also implored Lagosians to comply with the safety guidelines put in place to curb the spread of the virus.
“We are seeing slightly increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in clusters in Lagos and all Lagosians should adhere to the prescribed advisories of safe distancing, good hand and respiratory hygiene and avoidance of unnecessary gatherings,” he said.
With the festive period just around the corner, the number of cases recorded daily has surged tremendously as the NCDC also confirmed almost 800 positive cases within the last 24 hours.
Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire also instructed health workers to be alert and prepare for a potential second surge while speaking at the briefing of the presidential task force on COVID-19 on Thursday.
Recently, the Federal Government also highlighted on the reopening of closed isolation centres following spike in number of positive cases this week.
