Lagos CAN Backs Sanwo-Olu’s Second Term Bid, Plans Voters Sensitization

Stephen Adegbite, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos chapter, has drummed support for governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to continue as the state governor in 2023.

Speaking at the 2022 CAN inter-denominational prayer service held at the Apostolic Church of God headquarters, Lagos, on Saturday, Adegbite stated that the governor has done well in improving the lives of the people of the state.

He stated, “We’re thankful that we have a child of God as our governor.”

“His pedigree as a Christian faithful has continually displayed in his devotion to service to mankind in different strata of the society, even in tough times.

“The only way we can appreciate him for his great accomplishments in this first tenure is to rally around for him, support and re-elect him for a second tenure in order for him to complete many of his people-oriented projects in varying stages of completion.

“As the voice of the Christian fold in the state, CAN cease to associate itself with that which cannot be of benefit to the common good of the people.

“We have therefore resolved to embark on voter registration and sensitization drive across the state to bring the project Sanwo-Olu 2023 to fulfilment.”

Sanwo-Olu said in his remarks that he’ll continue to create an atmosphere for businesses to thrive.

“The state is in the business of transforming lives through improved infrastructure.” He added.

He noted, “Our impact is also felt in the education system where many classroom blocks are being constructed and re-constructed across the state with continuous recruitment of qualified teaching staff to aid in the smooth return of our teeming out-of-school children back to school.”

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare in the state.
