Israel Adesanya Beats Cannonier To Retain UFC Middleweight Title

Israel Adesanya defeated Jared Cannonier to keep the middleweight championship from UFC 276 in the wee hours of Sunday.

In Las Vegas, Adesanya defeated Cannonier in the fifth round to easily win his fourth title defense fight.

Based on significant margins from rounds four and five, the Nigerian was pronounced the victor by all three judges.

Before the fight, Adesanya had in a tweet said, “I’m an easy-going guy. But I’m never easy work. Tonight I will display skills!”

Adesanya fought Robert Whittaker in February to keep his UFC 271 middleweight championship.
