Italian football giants, Inter Milan secured a 2-0 victory in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia against Juventus; to move second on the Serie A table, and level on points with AC Milan.
The 2010 Serie A winners took the lead in the 12th minute after Arturo Vidal nodded home Nicolo Barella’s cross; scoring against his former club and managed by his old teammate – Andrea Pirlo.
The Nerazzurris doubled their lead six minutes after the start of second half; through Nicolo Barella.
The victory sees them claim a novel victory against their Italian rivals for the first time in four years. It also ended a seven-match winless run against Juventus in the league.
Antonio Conte’s men – who sit in second place and level on points with bitter rivals, AC Milan – could potentially fall three points behind if Milan secures a victory against Cagliari on Monday.
The victory also leaves Juventus fifth on the Serie A table, with one game in hand and seven points behind table toppers – AC Milan.
