I’m Trying To Be The Best I Can, Says Wizkid

Grammy Award winner Wizkid has talked about his sound and his ongoing quest to improve.

The Nigerian celebrity singer claimed in a recent radio interview that he works so hard at his profession to always forge new ground.

He claims that he continuously feels like a fresh artist and that this drives him to work hard every day to get better.

He added that he is just making my music, catching my real vibes and not diluting my sound; I’m not making music for people to accept me or like my sound.

Every day, I feel like a brand new artiste. I’m hungry for this like, am tryna be the best Wizkid that I can. So it’s like, uh, like I don’t feel like it’s new. Oh, am in a new territory so I have to do this.

“To be loved or for people to Like my sound or u know I have to do this for people to fuck with me… Like Nah!!! Am just really making my music and still catching my real vibes, not trying to dilute the sound,” he said.

Wizkid has been referred to as one of the icons of this generation by renowned Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage name, 2Baba.

In an interview, 2Baba made this claim while pointing out that Wizkid is deserving of the label of legendary, as opposed to many other performers.

Wizkid, he continued, has extremely sound lyrics, but he prefers to produce the kinds of music that today’s youthful audience enjoys.
