I’ll ensure Tinubu becomes president in 2023 – Lalong

The director-general of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign organization for Bola Tinubu, Governor Simon Lalong, has pledged to promote national harmony while overseeing the party’s electioneering.

At a news conference held on Thursday after being welcomed by APC members and supporters at the Yakubu Gowon Airport Heipang near Jos, Mr. Lalong made this declaration.

President Muhammadu Buhari was previously introduced to Mr. Lalong by APC National Chairman Adamu Abdullahi in his capacity as APC Campaign Director-General for Mr. Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

The Plateau governor urged Nigerians to elect leaders who will facilitate the process and stated that the APC presidential campaign will prioritize subjects that facilitated national progress.

He pleaded with Nigerians not to choose their leaders based on their ethnicity, religion, or local interests.

“Nigeria is one nation. The challenges we have is not for a Muslim or Christian because we have common challenges,” he said.

Especially given his current role as the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Mr. Lalong assured Nigerians of his ability to lead the APC presidential campaign.

The governor referred to his new position as a source of pride for Plateau and an indication of the trust placed in its citizens to work hard for the APC.

He made a plea to Nigerians and the Plateau people to assist the party in electing its presidential candidate and other candidates for jobs at various levels.

“The entire soul of APC and its campaign structure is put in trust to the people of Plateau. Know that they expect confidence in you to deliver the president to bring change and development in Nigeria,” he explained.
