On Sunday, December 4, about 8.45 p.m., unidentified gunmen kidnapped Ekpe Ogbu, the Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, together with Honourable Agbo Ode, a relative of his, and the driver.
They were reportedly abducted while traveling from Otukpo to Utonkon in the Ado Local Government Area of Benue state along David Marks Farm, following Akpa Otobi.
According to reports, the commissioner had just left a church service where Senator Abba Moro, of the Benue South Senatorial District, had just dedicated his newly inaugurated Campaign Council to God at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Otukpo, and was on his way back to his village in NDEKMA, Utonkon District of Ado LGA, when gunmen ambushed them and abducted them.
His company car was later retrieved by the state police and left to the Divisional Police headquarters in Otukpo.
The victims are currently being attempted to be rescued unharmed.
