French Open 2020: Fabio Fognini, Felix Auger-Aliassime out of French Open

Fabio Fognini has been knocked out of the French Open.

The Italian suffered a 7-5 3-6 7-6 (7-1) 6-0 defeat by Kazakh former top-50 player Mikhail Kukushkin.

Auger-Aliassime, 20, who got to the fourth round at Flushing Meadows, lost 7-5 6-3 6-3 to Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka.


French eighth seed Gael Monfils, also went out later on Monday after losing 4-6 5-7 6-3 3-6 to Kazahkstan’s world number 49 Alexander Bublik.

Russian fourth seed Daniil Medvedev, a US Open semi-finalist this month, was ousted by Marton Fucsovics of Hungary 4-6 6-7 (3-7) 6-2 1-6.
