Fr. Hyacinth Alia Remains Our Governorship Candidate – Benue APC

The All Progressives Congress in Benue State has stated that Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, a Catholic priest, will continue to be the party’s candidate for governor in the state despite the criticisms that have followed his nomination.

Some governorship candidates running on the platforms of the APC and the state PDP chapter had criticized the procedure that produced the priest, and the PDP had taken the APC to court.

In contrast to the persistent lies peddled by the state’s PDP-led administration, Alia remains the party’s standard bearer, according to Austin Agada, the state party chairman, who unveiled the party’s governorship candidate on Tuesday in Makurdi.

Agada said, “I want to reaffirm to the hearing of everybody and the Benue people that Fr. Hyacinth Alia remains the candidate of the APC in the state.

“Only God can change his name as the candidate of our great party, and we believe that God has spoken through the people and through the party that the candidature of Fr Alia is not just the voice of the people of our party, but the voice of the entire Benue populace.

“For us as a political party, we have given the Benue people the assurance that we will do nothing but what the people want. We have done primaries and the person that emerged is Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.

“I believe that for us to have a common course, and the common course is for us to see a new Benue State brought back to the track of development, and not the usual side of propaganda.

“The people out there, who are not politicians, have shouted it loud and clear that the man they want for this job now is no other person but Fr Hyacinth Alia. It is our belief that we’ll come together as a political party not to disappoint the people of Benue State.”

Agada asserted that the party’s candidate for governor is an actual APC member from the state’s Vandeikya Local Government Area’s Mbadede council ward, and that only he (the party chairman) could vouch for the party’s veracity.

The Independent National Electoral Commission received the party’s membership registers from all 23 of the state’s local government units, according to the state party chairman.

“I say this with depth for confirmation that the 23 membership registration registers of our great party have been submitted to INEC”, Agada said.
