Sowore Omoyele, the former Presidential candidate and the Sahara Reporters Publisher, mourns as his younger brother, Olajide Omoyele was killed by kidnappers.
According to the Revolutionary Sowore, his younger brother was shot dead in Okada, Edo State.
The deceased, Olajide Sowore was killed on his way from school– Igbinedion University where he was studying pharmacy.
In a tribute on his Facebook page, Sowore described his immediate younger brother as a genius. He further went to say that the deceased was one who is known to always “think-out-of-the-box”.
He wrote, “My immediate younger brother, Olajide Sowore was today shot and killed near Okada in Edo state by reportedly herdsmen /kidnappers on his way from Igbinedion University in Edo State where he is studying Pharmacy.
“They snuffed out the life of yet another real human being!
“Rest In Power, “Dr. Mamiye!”
“This act in itself will not delay their day of justice.
“I travelled widely with you and our father as a little kid. You were the most loved robust kid I ever first knew. You, Mr. Magnet, had no enemy!
“You, Mr. Sunshine Foundation who made everyone happy.
“You, the boy who snuck out his older ones to parties, taking all the blame when our disciplinarian father found out.
“You, the guy who was an out-of-the-box thinker who decided school wasn’t for you and created your own genre of music and then turned around to go to school after you almost turned 50!
“You lived your life so that everyone could be alright but now you are assassinated by everything that’s not alright!
“Saddest day yet!”
The incident was confirmed by the State’s Police Command and it was gathered that the killing of Olajide was by kidnappers and it took place around 6am on Saturday, 4th September.
After the killing was confirmed, the State’s Public Relation Officer, Kongtongs Bello told newsmen that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, Okada.
In a condolence letter to the activist, the Minister for State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN) said that he and other noble Nigerians will not let the law-enforcement agency to rest till they track down Olajide’s killers.
While commiserating with the former Presidential candidate, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki promised that he would ensure the killers of Olajide are brought to book.
