President Muhammadu Buhari is in Afaka, Kaduna State, for the passing-out parade and commissioning ceremony of cadets from Regular Course 69 of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
At 10:40 a.m., the President—who also serves as the Reviewing Officer—arrived at the location and looked over a Quarter Guard stationed at the NDA main gate.
He will likely provide the Champion Battalion the Banner and honorable cadets with prizes.
All the service chiefs, Usman Alkali, the Inspector General of Police, Ahmed Lawan, Senate President, the governors of Niger and Kaduna states, and members of the National Assembly, are among the dignitaries in attendance.
239 cadets in all, including those from sister African nations including Uganda, Liberia, Sierra Leone, the Niger Republic, and Chad, are graduating from the Academy as enlisted soldiers.
