The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) has called the rumor that British Airways intends to stop operating on the Nigerian route, which some news outlets have attributed to it, “completely incorrect.”
NANTA denied making any claims that British Airways had given a deadline or would stop flying to Nigeria in a statement released on Friday and signed by the organization’s public relations officer. NANTA has never made a press release to that effect. NANTA stated that making such a declaration was beyond its purview.
The association claims that British Airways assured the National Executive Council of NANTA during a business meeting that it will continue to support the requirements of travel businesses in Nigeria.
“As partners to all the Nigerian airlines, NANTA has made it a duty to visit the airlines to express sympathy for their stuck funds and to reaffirm our commitment to being business partners.
NANTA continued, “As far as we are aware, no other airline has indicated or shown a wish to quit flying to Nigeria, other than Emirates Airlines, which has made its withdrawal notice public.
