Barcelona Sign Andreas Christensen On Free Transfer

The Catalan giants FC Barcelona have announced the free-agent signing of former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, making it a hectic day at the Camp Nou.

As soon as it became evident that he would not be renewing his contract at Stamford Bridge, speculation in the British media turned to a transfer to Spain.

The 26-year-old defender had to wait for the official Barcelona player announcement since the Spanish powerhouses were having trouble signing their new additions because of money issues.

The talented Danish international, who will be introduced to the crowd on Thursday, signs a rich four-year deal with a €500 million release clause.

Following the earlier announcement of Franck Kessie’s signing, also on a free agent basis, Christensen is the second player Barcelona has confirmed today.
