Arsenal Beat Crystal Palace in Premier League Opener

Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace by 2-0 to begin their 2022/2023 English Premier League season.

The London team played outstandingly, taking control of the match at Selhurst Park from the moment the whistle blew.

Twenty minutes into the game, Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli gave Arsenal and the English Premier League their first goals of the year.

Crystal Palace trailed the Gunners at the interval after Ramsdale’s outstanding 42nd-minute save prevented Edouard from tying the score.

Crystal Palace played better in the second half. In the 52nd minute, they nearly tied the score, but Ramsdale again came to the Gunners’ rescue.

Marc Guehi’s deflection of Bukayo Saka’s strike into the Crystal Palace goal in the 85th minute gave Arsenal the victory.

In the absence of the results of the other games that will be played on Saturday and Sunday, Arsenal maintains its lead in the EPL with three points and two goals in the opening game of the season.
